How many tethers are drawn between us and a memory?
As we live life, we encounter experiences we love to hold onto. A discovery of a new fragrance, an achievement we worked hard to obtain, the day we were first kissed… these fond moments are forever frozen in a memory that we carry with us for years to come.
However, a memory, given power could become a set of chains that keep us from growing past the past. We begin to focus so much on what has been that we are reluctant to move forward. We stop growing, cease to experience new things, fail to make new, meaningful connections. In the name of a memory, we too are now frozen in time, while the person we could become searches for a way out.
When what's passed holds the power to delay and destroy what could be, Yesterday becomes one of many dangerous Tethers.
